Itinerary
The Southern Vietnam School Trip offers teachers and students the chance to visit Ho Chi Minh city – a dynamic economic city of Vietnam, Can Gio mangrove forest where they can enjoy the eco-game shows and explore the Mekong delta river. We also offer students the chance to join our Volunteer programs to help small local communites and schools in every place we visit. The students will get an opportunity to share their knowledge and help local students as well as local people, learn and respect the Vietnamese culture and customs, discover new cuisines and gain tremendous knowledge ensuring some great memories of their trip to Vietnam.
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Arrival – Water Puppet Show(D)
Meet upon arrival Tan Son Nhat airport then be transferred to our hotel int Ho Chi Minh City central for check-in, take rest of the day at leisure.
18:00 PM. Enjoy Water Puppet Show at Saigon Water Puppet house.
19:00 ~ 21:30 PM. Enjoy dinner at restaurant in town.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Tour – Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L/D)
6:45 AM. Breakfast at hotel
7:30 AM. Our guide and driver will meet up teachers and students at the lobby then start Ho Chi Minh City tour.
Begin your tour into modern history with a tour of the REUNIFICATION PALACE. Formerly the Independence Palace of the South Vietnamese president, this 60s style building was famously stormed by tanks on April 30, 1975 signifying the fall of South Vietnam. It has been preserved in its original state, and the original tanks remain on display near the entrance gates.
Afterwards driving to the historic center to visit EMPEROR OF JADE PAGODA, one of Saigon’s most interesting pagoda. Proceed to pay a quick visit to the neo-Romanesque NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL and the CENTRAL POST OFFICE. Pass by the classic European-style landmarks such as the ornate CITY HALL (HOTEL DE VILLE), the old OPERA HOUSE (both may only be viewed from the outside). Finally, end up at the central BEN THANH MARKET, where vendors display a vast array of goods and handicrafts, appealing to every taste.
12:00 PM. Having lunch at local restaurant in town.
13:00 PM. Drive about 40 km to the North West for visit of Cu Chi tunnels.
13:45 PM. Arrive and start the visit of the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which consist of an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during both the French and American wars. Start the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc sections of the tunnel. Here you can imagine what it was like to be a guerrilla complete with Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47′s on display.
17:00 PM. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
18:00 – 19:00 PM. Take a short rest at hotel before dinner.
19:00 – 21h30 PM. Enjoy dinner at restaurant in town.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Can Gio Biosphere Reserve (B/L/D)
6:45 AM. Breakfast at the hotel.
7:30 AM. Our guide and driver will meet up teachers and students at the lobby then drive to Can Gio Biosphere Reserve.
9:00 AM. Arrive in Can Gio Biosphere Reserve. After welcome ceremony, participate in introduction presentation about biodiversity of Can Gio mangrove forest taken by science officer.
11:00 AM. Having lunch at restaurant.
12:30 PM. Visit 30/4 beach and enjoy team building games on the beach.
14:00 PM. Go to visit Monkey Island to see thousand of individual long-tailed monkey (scientific name: Macaca Fascicularis) and many other animals: crocodiles, pythons, otters…
Visit “Sac Military Zone”. That was remodeled on the activities of the Sac commando’s life and their fight for Regiment 10 in the war against the Americans.
Enjoy speed of canoeing around the area.
17:00 PM. Go to the compartment number 2 inside the forest to have dinner at local house. Then set the camp together here.
19:00 PM. Join camp fire and culture exchange with local traditional music.
Overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Can Gio – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D)
6:00 AM. Wake up, personal hygiene and do morning exercise.
7:00 AM. Breakfast
8:00 AM. Join team building games concerning environmental education.
10:00 AM. Join traditional fishing and netting with local villagers. Then enjoy food cooked from catches aquatic products.
11:00 AM. Have lunch with locals and enjoy specialties of mangrove forest.
12:00 PM. Pack the camp then leave local families for Thieng Lieng polar energy used system.
13:00 PM. Arrive in Thieng Lieng, visit polar energy used system.
15:00 PM. Enjoys kayaking to explore river.
16:00 PM. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
17:30 PM. Arrive hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Have a rest before dinner.
19:00 PM. Dinner will be served at hotel and Conference mini- workshop.
Day 5: Ho Chi Minh – Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market on Mekong River (B/L/D)
6:45 AM. Breakfast at the hotel.
7:30 AM. Our tour guide and driver pick teachers and student at the hotel, then transfer to the My Tho City.
9:30 AM. Arrive in My Tho City. We will take a boat trip along Mekong River by motor-boat. During a boat cruise along Mekong River you will have a chance to see fish cages, floating house and the activities on the River. The boat takes you to Xep canal, where is the place you totally escape from the busy town. The boat cruise in the coconut trees canal takes you to a small islet. We disembark and have a walk around the village. Stop at a local family to enjoy tropical fruit, taste honey tea, honey wine and listen to Vietnamese traditional music, performance by the villagers.
Continue walking on the village’s road and have a horse cart trip along village road. Get off for a rowing boat in the small canal to the motor-boat and then head to the restaurant on the other islet.
12:00 PM. Lunch is set with special Vietnamese food at a local family. Enjoy lunch under tree shadow you will feel the life is so beautiful.
13:00 PM. After lunch we get back to the boat and cruise back to My Tho. Then drive back to Saigon, arriving in Saigon
17:00 PM. Arrive in hotel at Ho Chi Minh City. Take a short rest before dinner.
19:00 PM. Dinner at hotel and conference – Mini workshop.
Overnight at in Ho Chi Minh City
Day 6: Ho Chi Minh – Departure (B)
After breakfast, time at leisure until transfer to the airport for our departure flight. Tour ends.
