Day 1: Hanoi – Night train to Lao Cai

Day 2: Lao Cai – Transfer to Sapa – Ham Rong mountain – Silver Waterfall and Heaven Gate

Day 3: Lao Chai Ta Van – Ta Phin – Lao Cai – Train back to Hanoi

Tour program

Day 1: Hanoi – Night train to Lao Cai

08:00: pick up at lobby of the hotel in Hanoi; transfer to Hanoi Railways station for night train to Sapa. Overnight on train.

Day 2: Lao Cai – Transfer to Sapa – City visit and half day walking (B)

Accommodation: Bamboo Sapa hotel
06:30: arriving at Lao Cai Railways station, welcome and transfer to Sapa. Breakfast at hotel. Check in up on availability.
We visit Ham Rong Mountain in the morning to get panorama view of the “City on Cloud”. In the afternoon, met up at our hotel and depart for the Silver Waterfall. The Silver Waterfall is located about a half hour from Sapa town which offers stunning views over surrounding mountains and lush forests belonging to Hoang Lien National Park.

We are advised to stop by a farm for a cup of tea and talk with people to understand their local life. Then we continue our drive uphill to the Heavens Gate, the highest stretch of road in Vietnam as well as the provincial border of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces. Enjoy fantastic view over the valley! Overnight in Sapa.

Approx: 2 hours driving

Day 3: Lao Chai Ta Van – Ta Phin – Lao Cai – Train back to Hanoi (B)

We will commence our short journey by driving south toward Muong Hoa valley. We will then start our walk by descending into the valley, which is the largest rice paddy terraced among Sapa area. The guide can provide us interesting information about rice.
If we visit the valley sometime in between May and October, we will be able to observe and experience how the local do planting and harvesting, one of the most important activities in the daily life. The walk takes us from Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority to Ta Van village of Giay minority including a visit to the local Catholic Church. After visiting Ta Van the car will return us to Sapa.

Approx: 1 hours driving/ 2 hours walking.
Check out time at 12:00, then we are driving downhill toward Lao Cai, before taking a left turn into a small paved road leading to Taphin village. Here we can experience the unmixed cultural life of Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities, 2 largest ethnic groups in the area.
They live happily together while maintaining their own tradition from generation to generation. We can recognise them by dressing while they are both very famous of handicraft. We will enjoy walking among local people. The trip also offers us the opportunity to visit the local houses. Then we transfer back to Lao Cai for our night tratin to Hanoi. Overnight on train.
Approx: 1.5 hours driving/ 1.5 hours walking.

Day 4: Hanoi – Arrival

04:00 – 04:30: arrive in Hanoi Railways station, transfer to hotel. End of services
