Pu Luong Nature Reserve is one of the most beautiful areas in northern Vietnam. This is an area of outstanding beauty, an exciting mix of cultures, and rich biodiversity stretching from Mai Chau in the northwest to Cuc Phuong National Park in the southeast. The region is blessed with lush forests, vast limestone panoramas, magnificent rice terraces, and breathtaking scenery. This 8 days trip allow us to explore the mountainous Pu Luong Nature Reserve and amazing experience with culture of the Thai and Muong people in scenic villages with traditional, rustic home-stay accommodations. This is a challenging trek, with unforgettable rewards.

DETAIL ITINERARY
Day 1: Hanoi – Lung Van Village – Ton Village (-/Lunch/Dinner)
Our Green Discovery Indochina’s tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel then we depart for Pu Luong Natural Reserve. This scenic drive takes around 4,5 hrs. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. We will reach Mai Chau valley by lunchtime. Having lunch in Mai Chau, then we will drive forward Pu Luong. Arrive Lung Van village; we trek for approximately 4 hrs before arriving at Ton Village, which is home to Thai ethnic minority. We spend the night with a local Thai family who will be our hosts in a traditional house built on stilts. Before dinner we can stroll around the village to observe daily life activities of the locals. Overnight in Ton village.
Day 2: Ton Village – Nua Village (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Breakfast and venture far off the beaten track. The trek takes around 4 ~ 5 hours and is quite steep in places. Lunch will be provided at the local stall at the foot of the valley. From here we pass through several ethnic minority villages until we reach our night’s destination, Nua village by late afternoon. Have time to walk around this charming little white Thai village. Tonight we will be honored guests in a traditional Thai stilt house. Dinner and sampling of some homemade rice wine before heading to sleep. Overnight in Nua village.
Day 3: Nua Village – Huou Village (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Leave Nua village after having breakfast. Start our full day trek climbing deeper into the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Picnic lunch on the way. Continuing our trek passing through ethnic villages. Our day ends with a wonderful sunset (weather dependent) in Huou village. Dinner and overnight at our Thai homestay. Overnight in Huou village.
Day 4: Huou Village – Don Village (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today we have a full day trek as we climb to the Pu Luong range. En route we pass through a number of small hamlets and minority villages. After 4,5 hours of light ascent we will descend to the village of Don village, a village of Thai ethnic minority people, where we spend the night in local home. Overnight in Don Village.
Day 5: Don Village – Kho Muong Village (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast at home-stay in Don Village, we will start our trek to Kho Muong village. Have an around 4 hours trek through the verdant countryside. The trek path runs uphill and downhill through forest, rice terraces and scenic villages.
Our picnic lunch will be served on the way to Kho Muong village.
Arrive in Kho Muong village in the afternoon; take rest and walking around Kho Muong village. Tonight we will have dinner and spend the fourth night in the Thai village of Kho Muong.
Day 6: Kho Muong Village – Hang Village (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
This morning we have breakfast in the home stay before begin the long trek of the day. Today we will be walking for around 5 hrs on a rocky path running through jungle. Lunch stop will be in a village along the way. After lunch we will pass through several Thai villages before arriving at the village of Hang Village. Arrive Hang village; enjoy stunning view and fresh air, chatting with home-stay owner. Our dinner will be served at local home-stay. Overnight in Hang village.
Day 7: Hang Village – Nong Village / Van Mai Village (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today we have a whole day of light trekking. Passing through several Thai hamlets surrounded by rice paddies and beautiful scenery. Arrive Nong village, our picnic lunch will be served at Nong village and after lunch, we will continue trek to Van Mai village. Arrive Van Mai in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner with our hosts and slumber away after having a few sips of the local maize wine. Free time to walk around or chat with local people, then have a good night sleep.
Overnight in Van Mai Village..
Day 8: Nong Village – Cum Village – Hanoi (Breakfast/Lunch/-).
Breakfast is prepared by our guide then start trekking by 8:00 am. Today we will have an easy day with small ups and downs through rice paddies. After about 3 hours we get to Cum village. Our driver will be waiting for us there to transfer us to Mai Chau for lunch. Arrive and end in Hanoi in the late afternoon. Tour ends.
