You will enjoy the beautiful drive in great scenery in the whole trip, authentic ethnic markets at regions, the terrace rice field in Mu Cang Chai that have been recognized as national heritage of Vietnam, charming ethnic market of Can Cau, breathtaking pass of O Quy Ho and Sapa valley.
BRIEF ITINERARY

DETAIL ITINERARY
Day 1/ Thursday: Hanoi – Tu Le (210 km ~7 hrs) (Lunch/Dinner)
Upon your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be picked up by Green Discovery Indochina’s tour guide and driver, then drive towards Nghia Lo town on 32 highways, this journey passes through stunning mountainous landscape, featuring with fertile hilly area covered with green tea plantations, green mountains. Along the way you can see the forests cover high mountains. Spending about 4 hours walking through a narrow and long valley, we meet several hill tribes setting their villages in different ways which reveal their traditional customs and living style: The Thai occupy the low land almost at valley foot, near the streams from which they build up water wheels for transfer water to the rice terraces on which they farm wet rice intensively. The H’mong settle at the highest elevation, grow corn and dry rice on the burn-over land and the Dzao lives in the middle practice both methods of farming and it is easily to realize that they learn a lot of farming technique from the Thai ethnic minority.
Arriving in Tu Le town, a pretty mountainous town, we spend the remaining hours of the day wandering the town including the market area; we will check in hotel, take a rest and rolling around the town before drawn. Dinner and overnight at White Thai homestay in Tu Le.
Day 2/Friday : Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai – La Pan Tan (150 km ~ 5 hrs) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast at Tu Le, we depart to La Pan Tan. The road ride takes about 1 hour, we will have lots of time to exploring around the area for real mountainous life of the local ethnic minorities. Fancy a four hour trekking along a trail which connect villages to villages, meeting different ethnic minorities such as White Thai, Black Dzao, Red H’mong…who seems very surprise, they are willing to inviting you to their homes in which you will be hosted with tea or homemade wine. After visiting Mu Cang Chai, we will drive to our homestay in La Pan Tan for overnight.
Day 3/ Saturday: La Pan Tan – Bac Ha – Ban Pho (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Wake up early and enjoy the fresh morning air, bird singing. Enjoy breakfast at our local Hmong homestay, say goodbye to homestay family and depart to Bac Ha. Today’s drive is along an exciting stretch of road which climbs over the mountain pass to Mu Cang Chai past H’mong, La Ha and Dzao hill tribe communities. The road follows the mountain range and winds through tea plantations and rice terraces as it hugs the Nam Ma River. This stunning valley is dotted with Tay , Dzao and H’mong hill tribe villages.
Arrive Bac Ha at lunch time, our lunch will be served at local restaurant in Bac Ha. Check-in hotel and take rest for a while.
In the afternoon, we will visit one village and H’mong King Palace (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. After visiting H’mong’s palace, we will spend time visiting another village (Ban Pho village). Drive back to Bac Ha Town for dinner and overnight in Bac Ha.
Day 4/ Sunday: Bac Ha Sunday Market – Sapa (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast, we will drive straight to Can Cau market. It takes 30 minutes to get to Can Cau – a small market situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and only 7 km from China border. The market deeply shows the typical traditional cultural features of the minorities in remote mountainous areas in Vietnam. Furthermore, you can enjoy seeing ethnic boys and girls in colourful costumes – different colours of the mountains. They attend the market in the hope of finding “the other halves of their lifves” and this is also the time for them to chat, to exchange everything among different ethnic peoples through cups of wine sold in the market. After visiting Can Cau Market, get on the car and drive toward Sapa. On the way, spend time visiting a village of the Flower H’mong and then check in hotel in Sapa.
Day 5/Monday : Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Hanoi (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
9:30 AM, start from our hotel in Sapa Town on the main road to go down to Muong Hoa valley. Begining of the trip is the moment for admire the panorama view of the town and then the valley from the main road. After 4km on the main road, we start going down to the valley by the small trails through the terrace rice fields to get to Y Linh Ho hamlet, a small village of the Black Hmong people.
From Y Linh Ho village, we go along the river to go to Lao Chai village. It is time for you to visit the local families, listen to your guide’s explanation about the local culture: how they live, way of building the traditional house, and techniques of making clothes… or listen about the way of treatment for a sick person.
Stop for lunch. The lunch is served in one of the local refreshment restaurants on the side of the river.
In the afternoon, we leave Lao Chai to continue to Ta Van village, the Giay people’s residence. The guide to bring you into some family: listen about their life, enjoy some green tea, and learn about the differences of their culture from the other hill tribes even they leave close to each other. After Ta Van, we will be transferred to Noi Bai Airport for your departure flight back to Malaysia. ***Tour ends.
