Itinerary
Mai Chau is the mountainous town-let of the Thai people. This is one of the most picturesque regions of Vietnam’s Northwest. Nearby, the Pu Luong Nature Reserve is an area with outstanding beauty and biodiversity and worth exploring by foot.
Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Pu Luong
Day 2: Pu Luong – Mai Chau – Hanoi
Tour Program
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Pu Luong (L, D) (170 km & 3hour walk)
Today morning, at 8:00 AM our tour guide and driver will come to pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Mai Chau with spectacular views around every bend. Upon arrival at Pom Coong village in Mai Chau, take a short walk to visit the ethnic Thai village.
Lunch will be served in Thai traditional stilt house in Pom Coong village.
In the afternoon, we will be transferred to Phuc Tan Village where we will take a 2 to 3 hour walk through beautiful hill side villages, magnificent rice paddies to Hang Village. The highlight on this walk is experiencing the beauty of Pu Luong Nature Reserve, the everyday life and culture of the white Thai people. Become guests at a traditional Thai home on stilts.
Tonight we will have a traditional dinner and overnight in White Thai tradition house on stilt.
Day 2: Pu Luong – Mai Chau – Hanoi (B, L)
The daily life here starts early, it will be interesting for you to get up at the first sight of day light and take part in the activities in the morning, or take a stroll around Hang village before having breakfast with our new Thai friends.
At around 8:00 AM we will start our trek inside the Pu Luong Nature Reserve (back on some of the same routes) then onto the main road, after a 3 hour walk, the driver will pick us up and transfer to the Pom Coong village for our lunch.
In the afternoon we will leave Mai Chau at 2:30 pm and drive back to Hanoi, tour ends in Hanoi by around 6:00 pm.

Home-stay condition is very basic
Meals: Vietnam food.
What to bring: Passport, change of clothes, sun-glasses & hat, toiletries, sun-block, insect repellent, flashlights, good shoes, personal first aid kit & medicines, small VND notes for buying drinks. If you feel the need then sleeping bags, cable lock for your bags is recommended.
