Itinerary

Discovery Indochina Tour is a perfect trip for anyone, who wants to cover most of Indochina. The trip starts in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam with a cycling tour in Mekong Delta, we then move to Sihanouk Ville, Cambodia – to enjoy some on the nicest beaches there. Following that we come to Luang Prabang, Laos to visit its most famous destination – Pak Ou Cave and Khouangsi Waterfalls. Finally the trip ends with a fabulous 3 days 2 night cruise through Halong Bay in Vietnam.

Day 1: Arrival Ho Chi Minh

Arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, Green Discovery Indochina’s driver and tour guide will meet and transfer us to hotel, check in and relax. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

 

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh – Caibe – Vinh Long (B/L/D)

Pick up at hotel in Sai Gon, drive to Cai Be, boat to see floating market, poprice, rice paper, coconut candy making, keep going by boat to An Binh island, stop at local house for lunch, start to ride around An Binh Island (Vinh Long) on the cement road through fruit garden, in the shade of trees, along canals, check in homestay on the island.

At night: cooking and chatting with family

 

Day 3: Vinh Long – Cantho (B/L)

After breakfast, boat to Vinh Long, ride for 40Km along countryside road, to see rice field, farmer’s daily activities, stop for lunch at local restaurant in Tam Binh district, ride 20 Km to Can Tho ferry, cross river to Can Tho, check in hotel. Overnight in Cantho

 

Day 4: Cantho – Long Xuyen (B/L/D)

Early morning boat to Cai Rang floating market, ride along small road in countryside to bird sactuary, lunch in local restaurant, keep riding to Long Xuyen, take boat to Tiger island, ride around Tiger island to enjoy peacfull atmosphere on island overnight at homestay. Overnight in Long Xuyen

 

Day 5: Long Xuyen – Chau Doc (B/L)

Take boat to Long Xuyen, ride to Chau Doc, check in hotel. Overnight in Chau Doc

 

Day 6: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh – Sihanouk Ville (B)

Today we will take the van to the port and get speedboat to Phnom Penh. Arrival Phnom Penh, at the port, the driver will pick us up to Sihanouk Ville, check in and relax. Overnight in Sihanouk Ville

 

Day 7: Sihanouk Ville Free Time (B)     

Free day to relax. Overnight in Sihanouk Ville

Day 9: Sihanouk Ville – Phnom Penh (B)

Free time to relax before the driver take us back to Phnom Penh, arrival Phnom Penh, check in and relax. Overnight in Phnom Penh

 

Day 10: Phnom Penh – Luang Prabang (B)

Flight to Luang Prabang at 1445/1610 by Laos Airlines

Today you will take the flight to Luang Prabang, arrival Luang Prabang, the driver will take us to hotel, check in and relax. Overnight in Luang Prabang

 

Day 11: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves & Kuang Si Fall (B/L)

AM: After breakfast, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai, where the local rice wine is distilled. We return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon, on the way we take a short drive to Ban Phanom, a small village well known for its hand weaving.

PM: After lunch we continue towards Khouangsi Waterfall, en route, we visit the local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Ban Ou, Laoloum and Ban Thapene, and then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall.   Here you can take a dip in the inviting pools or walk along the forest trails surrounding the waterfall.  We return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon and continue to Ban Xangkhong, a village well known for silk hand weaving and for traditional Saa Paper making. We return to the city by late evening to watch the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath. Overnight in Luang Prabang

  

Day 12: Luang Prabang Free Time (B)

Today you are free at leisure. Overnight in Luang Prabang

 

Day 13 : Luang Prabang – Hanoi (B)

Flight to Hanoi at 1925/2025 by Vietnam Airlines

Today we will take the flight back to Hanoi, arrival at Noi Bai Airport, the driver will pick us up and transfer to hotel, check in and relax. Overnight in Hanoi

 

Day 14: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B/L/D)

08h00: Pick up from your hotel in Hanoi by tour guide. Drive to Halong City through the paddy fields in the Red River Delta by shuttle bus.

10H00: Stopover on the way for refreshments

12h00: Arrive at Tuan Chau Wharf – Break and photo opportunities

12h30: Board Glory Cruises for departure. A welcome drink will be served

13h00: Lunch is served while cruising through the bay

15h30: Visit exciting Cua Van fishing village, the village is free from busy roads and streets, electric lights, houses and high rise buildings. Instead, there are only herds of little boats and rafts. You will have the chance to discover the traditional culture and customs of the fishermen.

Enjoy kayaking or swimming (if the weather permits).

16h30-17h00: Return to the boat and join cooking class by Glory Cruise’s Chef.

19h00: Dinner is served.

21h00: Leisure time to enjoy a chat around the bar or enjoy night fishing.

Day 15: Halong Bay – Lan Ha Bay (B/L/D)

7h30: Start the day with an International breakfast

08h30: Transfer to another boat for Lan Ha Bay excursion.

10h00: Guided kayaking, swimming & snorkeling at Three Peach Beach, a pristine natural beach lapped by turquoise water.

12h00: Fresh seafood lunch will be served onboard or enjoy Barbeque on beach if the weather permitted.

13h30: Continue on to discover Ho Ba Ham Islet, the most remote point in Lan Ha Bay and bordering the Gulf of Tonkin.

14h30: Visit its quaint fishing village and lagoon

Possibility of kayaking through an amazing tunnel carved under a limestone mountain (time and weather permitting).

16h00: Cruise back to Glory Cruises

19h00: Sumptuous seafood set-dinner onboard

21h00: Retire to your cabin or join the fishing program

Day 16: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B/L)

06h30: Coffee, tea and breakfast pastries served in the dining room.

7h00: Enjoy Tai Chi instruction on the sundeck (duration about 30 minutes).

08h15: Visit splendid Sung Sot Cave

09h00: Check out and enjoy a fantastic cruise on the bay, passing Dinh Huong Island, fishing villages, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island and Sail Island.

09.30: Buffet brunch (breakfast/lunch) while cruising back through Halong Bay to the pier

11h30: Arrive at the pier. Time to say goodbye to the crew

12h00: Drive from Halong to Hanoi.

14h00: Stopover in Dong Trieu town to visit a Ceramics workshop.

16.00: Arrive in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi

 

Day 17: Hanoi Free Time (B)

Free time to relax or go shopping. Overnight in Hanoi  

 

Day 18: Hanoi Departure

We are free time to relax before the driver will transfer us to airport for departure flight.End of services!

What’s excluded?

  • Excess Baggage Charges. Passengers holding an adult fare or half fare ticket are entitled to a free baggage allowance of 20kg, for economy class. Total weight of carryon baggage each passenger may not exceed 5kg. The size may not exceed 20x40x 55cm.
  • Personal Expenses: Expenses of a purely personal nature such as laundry, drinks, fax, telephone calls, optional activities, sightseeing or meals which are not included in the tour itinerary.
