We had a great trip to Vietnam and felt it was like having 8 holidays in one experience as there were so many different elements: Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Tam Coc, Hue, Hoi-an, Ho Chi Minh City and Cantho. We really appreciated all of our guides. They were caring, had a sense of fun, very informative and good company.
What would we do differently? In hindsight, we could have gone directly from Halong Bay to Nimh Bin instead of going back to Hanoi from Halong Bay and then the next day to Cuc Phuong National Park, but we only realised this from experience so no criticism here. Talking to other travellers, we wished we had also gone to Dalat but again you find these things out when talking to folks. A lot of people had done a motorbike tour of the Highlands which sounded good and something we would have done – but there is always next time!
We suggest that when you use the Silverland hotel in Ho Chi Minh for your future European travellers, that you do not book the basic room. We were fortunately upgraded to a better room as what was booked as a ‘superior room’ (and this level is their entry level room) had no outside window and we didn’t like this. Loc sorted this out for us very nicely. We really liked the hotel and it was a pleasure to stay there.
We really liked all the hotels we stayed in and we really enjoyed the Halong Bay cruise. We also really appreciated being taken to a hotel when we arrived back in Hanoi after taking the overnight train from Sapa – we arrived around 4am I think and it was good to go to a nice hotel and have a few extra hours sleep and a nice shower.
We loved our cookery class at the Red Bridge cookery school, it was great fun and in a beautiful location.
The food was a delight and we loved our lunches, however we must admit that they were very large!
Everything went well and we would heartily recommend your company Green Discovery Indochina to anyone visiting Indochina.
It was also lovely to meet you Jenny and we were touched that you took the time to take us for a coffee and a new experience for us.
