The Vietnam Highlight Holiday focuses on the south of Vietnam with the Cu Chi Tunnels, Mekong Delta, Nha Trang & Dalat being the main highlights of this trip. It is designed to ensure you get a good variety of the landscape of this stunning country, from the floating markets in Mekong Delta to the spectacular beaches in Nha Trang we cover it all. A visit to the Romantic City of Dalat deserves a special mention as it is one of the best destinations in Vietnam. Come live, learn and absorb the beauty of Vietnam through this trip.

Day 1: Arrival Ho Chi Minh

Up on arrival in Ho Chi Minh, we are welcomed by Green Discovery Indochina Travel’s tour guide at the airport and then we will be transferred to our hotel in central city. Check in hotel and relax.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Tour (B/L)

Our tour starts at 08:30 am. We depart our hotel for War Museum, where you can see countless artifacts, photographs and pictures documenting about the second Indochina war. After that we will visit the Reunification Palace, the former Presidential Palace for the president of the South of Vietnam. Before our lunch we have walking tour around Dong Khoi area to see some outstanding French colonial architecture in Saigon: Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post office so we can get our good shots for our memory of the biggest city in Vietnam. In the afternoon we will visit the sprawling commercial hub of China town (Cho Lon), including Binh Tay Market area and Thien Hau Pagoda. Here you can experience our Vietnamese Southern daily life well. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi Tunnels (B)

At 9 o’clock, we will depart to visit Cu Chi Tunnel where is located in the Cu Chi District of Ho Chi Minh city. The tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous guerrilla fighters. Then we back to Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, free time for relaxing. Overnight at hotel in Ho Chi Minh

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh – Caibe – Vinh Long (B/L/D)     MK5

08:00, we will be met at the lobby of the hotel, after that, we transfer to Cai Be. The program will start with a visit of Cai Be colorful floating market cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables by the luxury boat of Mekong Travel

Then, an optional stop can be made at local workshops where you can see how to make rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn.

It is so interesting to visit the handicraft village where you can see how they make some special products: making rice-net for spring-rolls, fish sauce & Soya sauce, cooking salt, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage roof.

The best lunch will be served at local house

After lunch, the rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals and to enjoy the peaceful time. It is so interesting to see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and see some activities of the local farmers with an opportunity to make contacts with them and see how they catch fish or pick up fruits by ancestral ways in Mekong Delta.

Then, we visit nursery garden for you to contact the real famous farmers – Mr Tiger or his son who is very successful in Vietnam agriculture.

Have some fruits and tea when enjoying the traditional music at Ut Trinh home.

Check in Ut Trinh home-stay (or other home-stay on An Binh Island).

One more thing to do in this trip is biking! It will be so amazing to bike on village paths to see the local farms, houses, real life and the ancestral ways to pick up fruits in Mekong Delta..

We will Cook some dishes with the owners. We enjoy diner and have cup of tea or rice wine when talking together. You can ask the locals about the culture, people and history of this Island. They do not mind to answer some personal questions. Overnight in a private room of local house

Day 5: Vinh Long – Ho Chi Minh (B/L)

Have a breakfast and walk along the village to enjoy the fresh air in the morning

We will take a Boat trip to visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay.

Our boat will go along the floating village. We will learn how to farm catfish on Mekong River.

We can visit Vinhlong market in the town. This is the best choice for you to take pictures of fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables.

The cruise will end at Vinh Long city. Our tour guide will meet us and have lunch then transfer you to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrival Ho Chi Minh, check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh – Cao Dai Temples (B)

At 9 o’clock, we will depart for Tay Ninh in the Northwest of Saigon where is near the Cambodian border to visit Cao Dai Temple or Great Temple or Holy See. Cao Dai is a syncretistic Vietnamese religious movement that incorporates aspect of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and even Catholicism. Here, we will have chance to see a modern architecture closely resembles Christian cathedral… and 1 of 4 ceremonies in a day at 12:00, a biggest one in a day. After that we back to Ho Chi Minh. Day 7: Ho Chi Minh – Hoian (B)

 Flight to Danang at 1255/1405 by Vietnam Airlines

Having breakfast before the tour guide will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Danang, arrival Danang, the tour guide will transfer you to Hoian, check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Hoian

Day 8:  Hoian Old Quarters Tour (B/L)

Met up by local tour guide in the morning then we transfer/ walk down to the down town for our walking tour. We will start our walking tour around the ancient town to visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas of Chinese appearance. Then we are back to our hotel. In the afternoon, it is your free time. Overnight in Hoian

Day 10:  Hoian – Nha Trang (B)

Flight to Nha Trang at 1010/1135 by Vietnam Airlines

Having breakfast before the tour guide will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Nha Trang, arrival Nha Trang City, the tour guide will transfer you to hotel, check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Nha Trang

Day 11: Nha Trang City Tour (B/L)

This excursion takes you to visit a selection of the numerous attractions in Nha Trang City. First the car will drive you to Cau Da for a visit the Vietnam Oceanographic Institute to see the whole collection of sea creatures in Nha Trang Bay. After that, you will go to Long Son Pagoda, Catheral or Stone Church built in French colony time, Chong Promontory Rocks and the Po Nagar Temples. The tour ends after the visit to local Dam Market. Overnight in Nha Trang

Day 14: Dalat City Tour (B/L)

After breakfast, we will leave hotel for visiting Datanla Waterfall, Tuyen Lam Lake, Truc Lam Pagoda. The complex was completed in 1994 with the aim of giving new life to the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect, a uniquely Vietnamese form of Zen founded during the Tran Dynasty (A.D 1225-1400). Then proceed to Bao Dai’s Summer Palace; Bao Dai was Vietnam’s last emperor, the Valley of Love, Domain de Marie Church and Sigh Lake. Overnight in Dalat

  • Meals: Vietnamese Normal Food - All meals as specified in the itinerary.
  • Private Transfers: 4 seats car - Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver and English-speaking guide (as listed above). Your comfort is our priority!
  • Guide: As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city they will remain with you throughout your time in that city. A new guide and a new driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available.
  • Hotels: Hotel fees are based on two people sharing one room with Double/Twin beds.
    All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily Western or Vietnamese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.

Price Exclusions

  • Excess Baggage Charges. Passengers holding an adult fare or half fare ticket are entitled to a free baggage allowance of 20kg, for economy class. Total weight of carryon baggage for each passenger may not exceed 5kg. The size may not exceed 20x40x 55cm.
  • Personal Expenses: Expenses of a purely personal nature such as laundry, drinks, fax, telephone calls, optional activities, sightseeing or meals which are not included in the tour itinerary.
  • Meals: Any meals which are not specified in the tour itinerary.
